Cabinet approves Ahmedabad-Dholera semi-high-speed rail: Rs 20,667 crore, about 134 km, target 2030-31

The CCEA approved the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)-Dholera semi-high-speed rail on 13 May 2026: roughly Rs 20,667 crore for an approximately 134 km double line connecting Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR, the airport and Lothal, with completion targeted up to 2030-31.

Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway opens: 109 km, greenfield, access-controlled

The 109 km Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway (NH-751) was reported inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 31 March 2026 and is operational, cutting the drive from roughly two hours to somewhere between 40 minutes and an hour depending on the source.
