Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway opens: 109 km, greenfield, access-controlled
The 109 km Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway (NH-751) was reported inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 31 March 2026 and is operational, cutting the drive from roughly two hours to somewhere between 40 minutes and an hour depending on the source.
The four-lane greenfield corridor, expandable and built by NHAI with a 120 km per hour design speed, is the first of the three big connectivity anchors to actually open, ahead of the airport and the approved rail line. Reported construction cost is about Rs 3,196 crore, or about Rs 4,373 crore including land, figures that vary by scope.
For a region whose central criticism has been isolation, an open expressway is the single most tangible change of 2026 so far.
