How we source and correct
This page tells you exactly how we decide what to publish, what the three labels on every fact mean, and what happens when we get something wrong.
It matters because the labels are the only thing separating this site from a press release. If you understand them, you can judge every other page here without taking our word for anything.
The three labels
Every fact on this site carries one of three words. DURABLE means an official document says it: a government release, an official filing, or the company's own published statement. REPORTED means credible news outlets carry it and no official document confirms it yet, and we name the outlet so you can go and read it. TARGET means somebody has stated a date or a number they are aiming at. A target is never written up as an achievement here, because Dholera has a long history of dates that moved.
The official sources we lean on
A primary source means the organisation that did the thing telling you it did the thing, rather than somebody reporting that it did. These are the ones we use most.
- The official Dholera and regional planning sites, dholera.gujarat.gov.in and nicdc.in, plus published planning documents from the region's development authority
- Releases from the Press Information Bureau, the central government's official release service. Release ID 2260624 for the rail approval is an example
- Quarterly reports from the Central Electricity Authority for solar capacity, because generation figures should come from the power regulator rather than a brochure
- Company press pages, including tataelectronics.com, tata.com and fujifilm.com, when the company is announcing its own project
- gujrera.gujarat.gov.in, the Gujarat property regulator's register, for whether a project is actually registered
- Established news outlets for anything labelled REPORTED. The outlet is named on the entry
Who we are not connected to
We have no relationship with DSIRDA, DICDL or NICDC, the public bodies that plan and build the region, and none with any developer, broker or property listing site. We name companies when they do something. We never rate them, rank them, or recommend them. We publish no plot prices, because no reliable public source of them exists, and we treat every claim about how much land will be worth later as advertising rather than information.
When we get it wrong
We correct the entry on the page it appears on, we date the correction, and we leave the fact that it was corrected visible. Nothing is quietly rewritten. Write to editor@dholerasir.news with a source and we will act on it.
How the site is paid for
This site earns nothing from anything you buy in Dholera. If that ever changes, this page will say so before any other page does.
