Dholera news, July 2026

This page is the whole of July 2026 in one place, so you can catch up on the month without reading around it.

July was a month of plans rather than openings. Gujarat published its first data centre policy and pointed it at Dholera, the airport was reported to have crossed 80 percent with an operating window finally named, the road minister said the expressway would be extended to Bhavnagar within three months, and DICDL started the paperwork for a 200 million litre a day desalination plant. It was also the month the Bhogavo river cut off a village in Dholera taluka and the disaster response force was called in, which is the sort of thing a record has to carry alongside the announcements.

Is Dholera airport open?

No. As of July 2026 it is reported about 80 percent complete, the first calibration aircraft landed on 4 June 2026, and operations are targeted for September-October 2026. A target is not an opening date.

Has the Tata fab produced a chip?

No source confirms a chip yet. A first-silicon date late in 2026 is widely repeated and no source we hold supports it, so treat it as a target and nothing more. The plant is planned on mature nodes, 90 nm first, and commercial production is reported to be guiding to mid-2028.

Is the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway open?

Yes. The 109 km expressway was reported inaugurated on 31 March 2026 and is operational.

What did the July 2026 data centre policy change for Dholera?

Gujarat's first dedicated data centre policy names Dholera the state's primary location and confines its 2.5 percent capital subsidy to Dholera projects, alongside interest subsidy and duty reimbursements. The 7.5 GW and Rs 6 lakh crore figures are state-wide targets.
